Saturday morning I wake up and know it's going to be an awesome day because it's clear and about to become a sunny day here in the month of September...or is it? Generally my routine is to check emails to see if anyone is in need of support, although this time it became a support need for myself as I discovered Pixel Theme Studio emails were not working.

How to make money is something that is on everyones minds and for good reasons...so on that note, I thought I would give information that you may find enticing as the popularity of Pixel Theme Studio continues to grow. Some may have noticed and wondered why I don't have an affiliate program available so that people can make some extra cash on the side, or even as a full time job?

I have to say that each time I start thinking of a name for a theme or template, I run a period of "name block" which is much like writer's block. A cliche saying but the news is that I decided to retire the older Corporate theme for WordPress and Joomla for the new version that I feel kick butt of the old one! So what lead to this decision and what about the other themes? Basically it's just the sign of the times with the new WordPress 3.0 out with big changes and much better design functionality with my themes now.

Yes, you read that right...you can now buy single themes instead of going into a membership. Back by popular demand - and the several emails I've received - the single purchase option is active once again after being removed earlier in the year. It appears not everyone wants to have a membership, but rather just get one theme and that's it...nothing more for you to do but enjoy the new theme you buy.

While designing the Corporate WordPress 3.0 theme, I was discovering a couple of things that most may not be aware of and I have to say it was 2 hours of wasted valuable time. So I thought I would share this mystery image space below my photograph that I had placed into the header showcase area not knowing where it was coming from.

Yet again, WordPress developers love changing things with several of their major version changes, but in this case, their WordPress 3 menu management system is built into the admin now. This is a very long overdue feature and it marks the beginning of making menus easier for the end-user and non-techy savy individuals. Although, it's best to have a WP 3 theme to take immediate advantage.

I know there are many articles about choosing which cms, etc, etc., but I am doing this one based on what I feel are the top 5 things to help you choose between WordPress and Joomla. Why? Because Pixel Theme Studio offers both WP and Joomla themes. Ok, there's other reasons too but to help you out, there are at least five main factors to think about.

Choosing the right web host company/service is one of the most critical decisions you can ever make when you plan to go online with your business web site. The reason why this is so important is because if your host goes down, well guess what, your business is offline! Don't forget that hosts will have fine print stating they are not responsible for any loss of business, etc, etc.

I've talked about this with several users of my themes but decided to write a quick tutorial for everyone to learn how to take advantage of a WordPress plugin called "Widget Logic" and how "WordPress Conditional Tags" work in conjunction with your own web site. To be honest, I think this should be a standard function with WordPress so you don't feel stranded with limitations.

With the new version of WordPress (version 3.0) now available for users to download, there's changes which really means a major change in theme development and for anyone running 2.x versions, be careful when upgrading. IMPORTANT: Always do a full backup of your site before you do anything and use a development site to test major changes.

I'm sure many have experienced the frustration of getting png images to coexist within a solid background colour when viewing a page in IE, or maybe even a pattern background for a transparent effect. In most scenarios, designers, both experienced and inexperienced will be using some form of graphics application - perhaps the most common being Photoshop.
